I've decided to go and get myself a scottoiler tomorrow. So those of you that have them, where have you installed the reservoir? Thanks, Nik
Thanks, but I've had three of them on previous bikes, and I like them. I'll be fitting one tomorrow, so would just like to hear from those that already have them fitted, rather than those of you that prefer to spend your money elsewhere. Thanks awfully Nik
There is a good installation guide on the MTS1200 Info website. I used the Scottoiler dual injector mounted using a bracket designed by @@vau and available via Shapeways. The bracket was designed for the 2010-2014 Multistradas.
I've put a pdoiler mini on mine, tank on the left, pump on the right both behind the side panels and ran the feed tube down by the reg/rec and with all the wiring down the swing arm. The chain rubbing strip goes back quite far and is bolted on at the tip so should be nice and handy for a bracket for the scottoiler feeder. I went for the pdoiler because it seemed easier for me to connect it to the switched accessory socket than tapping into a vacuum on the throttle body, if i did it again i would have the all in 1 unit, the reservoir needed modifying to have it laid down and may yet be replaced with a model aircraft fuel tank..
Seriously, what is it with you idiots posting moronic replies? I get that you don't like scottoilers. So what? It's totally irrelevant to the question I've asked. Go and waste your time somewhere else.
Dear Mods, this thread has been getting out of hand, with members posting responses in the most robust of terms. These posts have sensibly been removed by the admins - thank you, boys - but unfortunately, the timing is such that I have been unable to read them first. Please restore them and I shall let you know when I am done with them. As an aside and totally by the way, I have Scotties on both my sports bikes (why would anyone buy a Multifugly anyway?) so obviously, chain oilers are a good thing. Thank you.
I had the vacuum one on my KTM. It must have been sucking air into the inlet manifold (though it never ran low on oil) and caused all sorts of problems with the fuel mapping. Also messy even on lowest setting. Hence the bin. Went back to aerosol lube (Rockoil - excellent) and never looked back. Life was simpler and cleaner and the bike ran properly. Each to their own. If they work for you, good luck to you. No need for knickers to get twisted. If anyone's ever down my way there's two bottles of refill oil in the cupboard. Free to a good home..
Admirable. Members keeping the piece by moderating themselves. Things would go a lot more smoothly is everyone did that. I wonder if the mods could restore the posts temporarily, all the same. Did I mention how much a fan of Scottoilers I am?
I was presuming they would be fitted to bikes on the road, but yes you are correct with that statement other than I will not have bikes in my living room (anymore) but it was the airport run this morning :Shifty:
