There are youtube videos that give advice on how bikers should and shouldn't wave. When I saw them I though - oh fer fuck sake! Really? Then I saw this and thought. OK. Maybe some people need it.
Actually I only nod. I don't wave. I don't even do this head tilt thing. It feels too much like I'm giving a patronising wink - "all right sonny". But what do you do when you meet a rideout of 20 odd bikes. If you nod to every one in turn you'll end up in traction. If you start nodding then get tired half way through you snub the riders at the back and the same if you nod intermittently. I suppose if there's an open road and a corner coming up you can always hang off and hide but then they'll think you're a poseur or if they're Harley or BMW riders, a maniac. Its a social minefield this biking business.
