Hi, Looking for a 916 SP rear seat unit. Ducati factory quoted me around £600 including vat but I would be keen to source a nice used one if possible. As for the tank, Ducati do not supply these anymore so would be keen to locate one if possible. Thanks, Stephen
Thanks for the tips. I have managed to source a tank via this forum. I have a later tank fitted, but what I am told, the earlier tanks have different 'Ducati' font and text is lined with gold outline.
Hi Stephen, i have a bip seat cowl in grey primer, that should fit all the 748-998 were the same i believe? i will try and dig a pic out later looking for £40 plus postage it has got the mesh infills as well. Do you need the bip subframe? as well i have not got that i'm afraid
Text aside, later models - '99 on (intro of 996 IIRC) have a slightly different shaped tank. I think the later ones are slightly narrower at the widest point, something to do with keeping it off the road better if the bike goes down?
Agreed, that was the reason for slimming the tank, the edge round the bulge of the tank used to get easily damaged if the bike hit the ground. Unless you have both tanks side by side it's quite hard to tell the difference.
