It's inconceivable that the Americans would vote Trump for president. Inconceivable. Isn't it? Isn't it?? What? Well, supposing they do, what is that going to do for Anglo-American relations? Remember, we are protected by the American nuclear umbrella and the finger on the button will be Trump's... How happy does that make you feel? Also, supposing the Americans do vote for him as president, what will that say about Americans? Reagan wasn't even in the same league as this bloke. Truly frightening.
It's always a bit of a dilemma when contemplating opponents, isn't it? Do you wish for your opponent to be a terminally nasty deranged arsehole so he will have no chance of winning? But what if he actually wins after all - then you would wish for him not to be so bad!
So, are you saying we should scrap that offshore wind farm he objected to? Just in case Like. :Wideyed:
Remember: the illiterate hockey mum ended up with the vice-presidential nomination last time. Trump could quite easily get the nomination and also end up being POTUS. It should be far fetched but it isn't. Is this really the best that 300 million of the world's richest inhabitants can do?
Trump is up against 11 other Republican runners so there's some hope he won't get elected. This article has some interesting info on the election race and, to my reading, has Trump as a no hoper.
That article was written in June last year. A lot of water has flowed under the bridge since then. There is definitely some hope that Trump won't get elected. Problem is, he might. In June it might have looked extremely unlikely. Now though? Personally, I doubt he will. I still credit the US citizenry with some nous. But I'm definitely not ruling it out. How much would you bet against it? Real money. I'm sure you can get a deal at the bookmaker's: William Hill says: Hilary Clinton 11/8 Trump 10/3 Bernie Sanders 6/1 Marco Rubio 6/1 Go and stick on £100. You'll get over £300 back. Maybe...
I'm afraid America may need to go through its President Trump phase. I doubt the world will end because of it but it might be a necessary mark on the country's learning-curve towards adulthood. Personally I'm not losing any sleep. There are quite enough problems this side of the pond to be worrying about.
Can't stand the bloke.....sums him up he used that Bulldog lady Palin yesterday to promote himself. Clearly aiming she gun toting non city dwelling Americans who've never travelled out if the USA and think everyone is out to destroy them. One dangerous dude.
