I would get it mapped if you remove the Cat, it won't make much difference to the sound if you leave it on there and just fit the end can as the Cat does pretty much all the silencing. Looking at this thread... http://ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/decat-and-remap.38848/ It looks like there is a re-map available for the DVT through Nelly at Cornerspeed but the ECU needs sending to Germany, so not a quick ride in, have a coffee or 2, ride away grinning type of thing.
I looked into a remap for my Dvt, but it's just too much hassle at the moment, in a year or so fingers x'd the situation will be different.
I'm awaiting SC projects pipe, they told me end of jan/in to feb. Good price point and decent quality reputation and then will have it mapped at dealer for approx £350
Map isnt essential, having done a decat and can on lots of bikes I've never had one detonante itslef due to running lean. Sure custom map is ideal. Just wondering if anyone has fitted one and nogticed it gives back any of the midrange the DVT seems to lack
Isn't the CJS remap about that? And that's a full day on the dyno with 12 maps (individual per cylinder and gear) and the Rexxer map seems to go for around £200 from a quick search... Obviously those prices are for pre-DVT bikes.
That'll be a custom map, the owner is really in to his ecu work and with the race team they know how to set a bike up well!
I'm confused!? Who would be doing the remap if a decat pipe is fitted to a Dvt? I spoke to Cjs a month ago or so, and was told they were not doing anything map wise with the Dvt for the foreseeable future I'm looking to decat my Dvt too.
As far as I know, the guys at Rexxer are the only ones to have cracked the DVT ECU as yet, and then it needs opening up. We have no lead time yet on when/if we'll be able to write via the OBD cable yet. It has to be sent to Rexxer in Germany for the work so it's more than the regular flash, about 350 inc postage etc.
