Identify The Bike

  1. This is a picture of my late Italian grandparents taken in the late 20's before they were exiled to the UK from Alexandria in Egypt. Does anyone know what model/make this bike is? My grandfather was unknowingly probably one of the reasons I got into motorcycles and the reason for my monika, as it was his nickname for me as a small child.

  3. After looking at a ton of 1900-1930 bikes just now, I'd say Its a BSA, Model not sure. some I spotted looked very close, but exhaust was on the wrong side of bike.

  4. no idea. but a nice piece of history. :upyeah:

  5. Single inlet valve, twin exhast valve 350cc single. My guess would be a 1930s Sunbeam. Andy

  6. Thanks for all the info guys. Just wanted to try and piece together some history on the bike. It does look like it might be an Excelsior. Not exactly sure which model.

  7. Excelsior is best known for its v twins and two strokes so I'm not sure you are heading in the right direction. Andy

  8. Think I might have found it! Look like an AJS R6 or R8. The rear fantail piece is missing off the exhaust but it certainly looks close.
