Currently listening to Richard Thompson: Rumor & Sigh, as I wanted to hear the track Vincent Black lightning 1953. The track's not bad but the albums has some good stuff on it. Now I would be the first to admit I have strange tastes in music (No-one ever like my mixer tapes) But I really can recommend the sound track albums of Twin Peaks(TV Series) and American Beauty(film), the Nigel Kennedy: Riders on a Storm (music of The Doors) album, and, if you can find it, Ritchie Havens: Great Blind Degree. This last has, as far as I know, never been released on CD and I had a friend copy it from Vinyl to CD for me. It has some great tracks!
Saw Ritchie Havens at Knebworth and never forgot that track he sung for Steve Hackett - another great singer gone now (72), wish I had seen him at Woodstock - what a voice. ok, slightly average song but still great guitar and brought alive by the great Mr Havens
Eno and Peter Gabriel - Two of the 'gods' of music ('course it's only my opinion but I guarantee I'm right!)
RIP Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe, Jack Dakin and manager Craig Tarry What a tragedy - due to play The Boiler Room in Guildford this Saturday.
