Optimate Conection

  1. Hi all,

I currently have an Oxford Oximiser 900 battery charger, but I forgot to remove the battery connector before I sold my old bike.

The Ducati I am hoping to collect next week, currently has an optimate connection on the left side above the gear linkage.

My question is, is there an adapted I can use to connect the Optimate to the Oximiser? I think the Optimate is a SAE connection but am unsure.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  2. I've got an Optimiser 900. My Multi and my 907 both came with "Optimate" connectors already fitted and they look exactly the same and fit no problem.

  3. Is that the little white block connector?

  4. Yes, they are polarised so they only fit one way.

  5. Motohaus do a range of adaptors, one of which will do the job. I know this because I had the same issue and solved it via their web-site.

  6. This was my initial thought, but then I was told it is a hassle to access the battery. As its a new bike to me, I figured if I can just get an adapted then it would be easier.

    Lazy i know!

  7. On a multi access is very easy

I have an older version and the new multi had an opitimate lead installed but its a different fitment. Bike has been sat pretty much 3 months, not on a charger, started 3rd turn over yesterady :)

  8. Taking your bike apart is half the fun. It's -2 outside, what else are you going to do for the next month? :D
