power commander for 900ss 2002

  1. Hey, just curious which power commander should fit a ducati 900ss 2002 model?

  2. Dynojet Power Commander 701-411 USB

Mine is listed as for 99 bike. My bike is 00. I checked with Dynojet and they're all compatible.

There are different maps on the cd which comes with it or from DJ website but ideally a custom map is best which costs about £150 with rolling road time.
An alternative is to contact CJS Ducati who posts on here. He can possibly reflash a map into your existing ecu. He (Chris CJS) is nr Bristol.

  3. cool thank you :)

I think I will have to look at one of those as I'm wanting to replace the spark plugs with NGK and filter with K&N, ... not quite sure if the mixture will run too lean after doing that...

  4. Plugs won't affect mixture, thats controlled by ecu (Silver finned fag packet sized box behind battery.) A K+N on its own should be fine. The object of tuning is to get more mixture in and out. The normal route is, cans so it makes a nice noise, then K+N with or without airbox mod, closely followed by Power Commander or ECU upgrade. If you fit a K+N on its own the bike can breathe in better but is strangled on the way out so you might not notice much.

  5. An alternative to a powercommander is the ducati performance ECU. i have one brand new for sale, £250 + post.

  6. fitting a performance ecu on my bike, will it not have to be remapped to match my bike's specs? if so how much will that run me ??

  7. see above post.

  8. cant see the answer to my question here ... if i put in a performance ecu into my bike, it will have to be remapped to match the mods that are on it so that it provides the right levels of fuel vs air, otherwise it will probably not make much difference. How much does that cost?

  9. The ducati performance ecu is pre mapped for filter and exhaust, but only that! if you have any other mods that will alter fueling then you have to think of another way, like p/commander. however if you are just going for a system and filter or open pipes the ducati performance ecu will work, basically fills in the poor fueling at the bottom end that is part of the emissions setup. this is partly where an open pipe affects the fueling so its corrected in the ecu.
