Dash Cam Caught Me.

  1. A plod friend of mine had a prosecution he was pursuing for a driver doing 115 mph chucked out because the speed gun he was using was not 100% calibrated in accordance to Home Office standards.

The driver didn't even turn up to court and was represented by the celebrity lawyer from Manchester who gets footballers off on technicalities.

So it would come down to the quality of the lawyer arguing your case and you not admitting it.

  2. I have started riding with a helmet camera because of a few near misses, i dont upload the footage even when it catches a near miss but if i do get smidsy'd (Sorry Mate, I Didn't See You) at least i can prove what happened... It does show the Multistrada's speedo very clearly though so i try to behave.

Every vehicle that i drive at work is fitted with cameras and they have saved many drivers jobs, and ended others, they are a double edged sword.

  3. Mine's mounted to the LH side of the multi's screen (just forward of the speedo). Makes those little acceleration wheelies difficult to prove too as that could just be suspension travel.
