Belt Tension ?(hz)

  1. for those that tension there own belts is it recommended to use an external mic while using an android mobile (sony z3/ galaxy s5) or is it perfectaly fine to use without? if better to use one any links/ recommendations? cheers

  2. I have done it with android guitar tuner setting 110hz each. Did use pnone internal mic. Don't forget to put measured cylinder on tdc. Look into YouTube ducatitech about belts replacement.
Following it and setting as said i have done 8 thousand miles and now i am doing service and no wear on belts at all. However i am due to replace them again. Good luck

  3. I used the internal mic last time but have bought an external one for future use as it is supposed to be easier to get reliable readings

  4. cheers lads, done belts many times on my old 916 so no probs there, just thought using external mic would be easier/ more precise, ive got the gates app which seems to do the job nicely ;-)

  8. Knowing You from what advertising i assume( i just have bought pair of exact fit belts ) is 99 the reading for them?

  9. It is 99Hz nominal - 110 Maximum, OEM are 110Hz Nominal.
    Packaging shows 99Hz :upyeah:

  10. Allegedly, ExactFit belts stretch less than oem, so the in- service tension should end up being very similar.

  11. At what point are you measuring the Hz?

  12. Iirc, middle of longest run

  13. As per Chris Kelleys California Cycleworks ExactFit utube video anyway...

  14. So I will do 99 these are my first pair of exact fit
Did not have a chance to read what's is on the box

  15. Yes, do 99 as @Exige is telling you. I suspect the video talks about 110 because it was produced before the recommendation changed but do use and follow the video, it is very helpful.

  17. Great You are a star. Apparently i have watched the video a year ago replacing oem ones so 110 did not hurt as i can see now old belts are looking good.. But it is worth replacing anyway. 9k miles on them
