  1. aye. slow down jv.

  2. Camped next to the pub their a couple of times. It had it's own generator as no mains electricity and the water came from a spring. At the far end of the pass their was a fine selection of vehicle's down a gorge including a fish and chip van.

  3. Great view from the top, cycled it a few times.

Ullswater lake is simply stunning on a nice day.

Biggest hazard is cars crossing the white lines IMO.. ( And spirited sheep who seem like they have done a few white lines..)

  8. I was in the car that day with SWMBO. The Multi is in the garage waiting for warmer weather and the salt to be washed from the roads.

  9. Sheep are fairly docile, it is the lambs you have to watch out for, particularly when they are on the other side of the road from their mothers.

Ullswater, for those that don't know Kirkstone Pass goes up the valley in the centre of the photo.

  10. Just for a bit of perspective here:
Hardknott Pass, Cumbria = 393 metres
Stelvio Pass, Italy = 2,757 metres

  12. It is from a great location on a lovely day, straight from the camera, except for resizing.

  13. Sometime last year, somewhere in the lakes on the Streetfighter. :)

  14. Not much to go on but that looks like the southern lakes cutting back across on the minor roads to the south of Coniston. Possibly ?

  15. Yeah but I can get to Hardknott in about an hour.

  16. Try Wynetts Pass in the Peak District. Thought I was gonna puke!

  17. Maybe, but you'll not find a vista anywhere in the world more beautiful than the lake district. Then you have the roads...........:)

I stuck a pin randomly in Google maps and got this..........and it's like this forever. :upyeah:

  18. But it doesn't. A short sharp climb can batter you. Even the tdf boys moaned about sections from tour of Yorkshire the other year. With a long drag you find a pace and grind on up. A short sharpie (15 minutes) takes out your comfort zone. But I love em!

  19. Oh yeah that's the one I meant.. DOH!
