Here's the secret about skiing: Treat it as a laugh. Fall over a lot, cackle like a demented kid, get up and fall over a bit more. That way you improve and learn. How not to do it: Take it all very seriously. Witter on and on about stem christies and moguls. Try to never fall over. Be worried about how good other people are. I have never heard a Swiss talk about skiing technique, any more than about their technique for walking. Holidaying Brits on the other hand all bray at each other in bars about the ins and outs of this, that or the other technique. I avoid them like the plague. Skiing should be treated as a huge laff, which is what it is. It is just the best way to spend a winter's day. All that fresh air, sun, spectacular views and behaving like a 5 year-old. Brilliant!
Milestone..... Just got round the other half for a hypermotard! Supermoto going up for sale very soon. I just wish I caught my old one when it went up for sale.... That would have been amazing...
I've done a fair amount of skiing. I treat it the same way I do my riding. I enjoy the thrill of the speed, the thrill of he cornering and the scenery. The similarities are many.
'kin hell what's your mode of negotiation pigeon post It'll definitely be a classic by the time you get it
I have been a motor trader for 42 years and nothing the general public does ever surprises me? My fave fave thing is when they pitch up 2 hours late without even the courtesy of a phone call and I tell them it just passed them going the opposite direction! Makes my life complete
Lots more garden work, followed by a brief ride on the 899. Hoping to get out properly tomorrow! I saw someone else on a 899 coming into hungerford from Marlborough.
Lopped several medium-large branches off the tree today. Then went to B&Q to see whether they can deliver a couple of fence panels on Monday when I am off work. Can they fuck. Asked if they could quote a rough time on Tuesday for delivery. CTF. Asked if they deliver on a Saturday. CTF. You can see where this is headed, right?
Got the Mutistrada out of the garage, not been started since last November, unplugged the Optimate, pressed the button and away it went. Went out for an hour to blow the cobwebs out. Great to be back in the saddle.
Finally got to cut the grass, bloody mower kept blocking up. Took ages. Took the bike out for a quick run. Its around 12deg here, tropical weather.
