Spot on but it was a while back now.Think I delt with them via ebay first then ordered a few parts via there website.Seem to remember they were very keen on price with STM parts compared to UK stockists.
Ordered a set off their website after checking they had them in stock and delivery time. Let's hope they turn up as promised!!
Update! Just got my new Brembo HPK discs from omniaracing.com - absolutely fantastic! Too nice to fit on a track bike, I just want to lick them!! Omniaracing.com - great price and great service - ordered on Thursday, would have arrived on Monday but it was bank holiday. Also, I spoke to a brake man and he said the pads for BMW S1000R Brembo calipers are thicker than those for Ducati/Aprillia/KTM etc. he said the BM pads shouldn't be fitted to Ducatis even though dimensionally they are the same apart from the thickness. So, I have ordered another set of Bendix MRR's to kiss my lovely new discs. Also got new tyres too so will be checking them all out at Brands next Thursday. R
Mmmmm....classic combo: New Brembo discs Brembo P4 calipers with new Bendix MRR pads and new brake fluid Ohlins/KTech forks Marchesini forged wheel with new Metzeler Racetec K1 tyre
I feel sick at the thought of the consequences of it happening at Paddock! An angel must have been watching over me!
This just happened to me on my 749R at Rockingham National circuit last Friday. Went to brake into Yentwood and the lever just went straight to the grip. Stamped on the back brake and managed to knock some speed off before abandoning ship in the gravel (before I hit the wall). Back at the paddock we noticed one of my Bendix pads (262-MRR) was completely missing - it had been spat out of the caliper. Bike is ok, got away with cosmetic damage and I only have bruising but it could of been a lot worse. I've just now checked the Bendix pads with the SBS set I had on it previously and the backing plate is almost half the thickness :-( See photo.
It might surprise you to know that graham hill is the most common corner at brands for bikes to have shunts Big shunts as well!! It's high side grand central
That's nasty - I feel for you! Same brake pads as me - looks like they have a tendency to do this when they get near the wear marks. I may stop using them. My R is having a gap year this year as I have got a 1098R to play with now...
Yes, never had brake failure before, not a nice experience. I bought the pads in September last year. I'm going to try to find out whether Bendix have changed the design and I got sold old stock or if they are still selling the thin ones now. You don't expect brake pads to be ejected from your motorcycle so if Bendix are still making them like this then they need to be informed before someone gets seriously hurt or worse :-(
Thanks. I'm just going to not buy Bendix then. Bit scary if they are still for sale and its a known issues. I think I'd be emailing Bendix and the seller if I were you. Imagine if it happened on a normal highway. Glad you're ok, bikes are easier to mend than people.
I maintain the bike meticulously, it's my pride and joy. The pads were not worn out. In fact, I had checked them right before I went out for the session when it happened. That's not the issue, check the photo. The fact of the matter is, pads should not fall out, even if they are worn.
I had this happen to me about 20 years ago in a Renault Clio diesel. That was scary enough, never mind on a bike :Nailbiting:
