  1. Me, reading some of the posts above.

Also with it being live, anything could have happened. The fact that it all went pretty smoothly meant that there was a bit of filling to do. Maybe if there was a reliability problem with a bike or an accident, there wouldn't have been the need for "fluff" and the show would have ran differently.

I thought the live element added something to the show. You were never sure if he was going to have an accident or not. I don't think an edited program would have been the same.

  2. Was anyone else impressed by Shanaze Read's record ?
25mph in a wall of death on a BMX bike ! Madness...

  3. It was impressive but riders on the Tour de France average 25mph for the entire race, including the climbs.

  4. No wonder they accused that guy (not Guy) of having a motor in his bike...

  5. TDF riders aren't pulling 2.5G though, are they... ?

  6. True.

  7. probably needed filler parts due to the fact shanaze got the
speed she did first go and she started before jones expected
and that guy managed the 60 mph on the first go aswell
they probably thought he couldn't do it and it would take longer lol
all this from a guy thinking I can do that and not listening to everyone saying he couldn't
a role model for all of us maybe .........

  8. Would have been good to see Guy have another go, especially if he'd switched back to the Indian which looked so much smoother and easier to ride.

As to the other complaints, yes it went on a bit and yes some of the production was a bit amateur. However, motorbikes on prime time TV on a major channel has to be a good thing....that hasn't happened since Ewan and Charlie's last escapade. It wasn't fantastic, but it was the best thing on TV this weekend.

  9. There was nothing amateur about the £1,000,000 lighting rig though :Wideyed:

  10. Jame Allen's commentary was truly dire though... He obviously knows diddly-squat about bikes...

  11. 6.5g? grams? Bit personal :Wideyed:

  12. I recorded this and avoided reading thread until I watched it last night. I watch all Guy's stuff as I like the man but must admit, this was shite. What Guy achieved was superb, enjoyed that bit but the rest was monotonous and found myself fast forwarding through most of it. My misses watched it a few days ago and said his girlfriend appears on it too. I thought, oo-er, some crumpet to ogle too. That was disappointing too although the guinness book of records provided some totty :)
