Hi Would I be right in saying this bolt between the bracket and the stand should be straight and the spacer not squished? Thx
If you can wait a bit and give more photos and dimensions, I may be able to make them for you £0.....It depends what I have 'in stock' in my stainless and other bits and pieces.
Yes, yes and yes. It obviously has to be pretty "beefy" as it holds the bike up! Would appreciate it if you could. Thx
Send me a PM so we can exchange emails.........I haven't a clue what the bolt and spacer sizers are..........but I can guess to a point........
Subject to the thread sizes I reckon I can produce a replacement...........at least if it were mine, I would come up with something to avoid that cost.
I'm sure most 999 owners would like to replace that bolt with stainless, I know I would! Maybe CR's could be a prototype and you could knock out some more for a reasonable fee?
I reckon I can do a one-off because if needs must there are ways of making things to replace originals without having to use expensive tooling and machinery..... Here you see small stainless brake pad retainer pins and R-Clips..... ..........and a rear brake caliper anti-torsion stub for the ally swingarm...... ....plus a handy socket transformed for turning the silly camshaft nuts.....
Would be great if you could make a few @Arquebus - happy to contribute to any costs. I do my best to keep the bike upright but the damn thing just loves to lean... even at a standstill
I'll see what I can knock up first...............I have a source for those shoulder bolts in stainless (well, almost the same) but as they are quite expensive for five once the postage is added, I'm trying to blag a sample so I can be certain.
Five would cost about £25.00...........and until I have decided they will do the job and save a bit of time over what I was thinking of using, that seems a bit of a silly expense, especially if I need to turn down the OD of the shoulder a bit and still drill and tap the head. I like doing it but I don't like spending money, not mine or other peoples.
