  2. (1) Unloaded yet another BSA purchased off ebay...will I ever learn?
    (2) Finished building log store...not exactly the Taj Mahal but the missus likes it.
    (3) Went to see the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.Absolutely fantastic gig, nice and gentle on the ears, and quite funny in a pleasant and inoffensive way. Highly recommended by me and those that accompanied me.

  3. Gave my new 1100 evo sp a good clean yesterday, fitted the original handguards (which for some reason just didn't want to fit but got there in the end).... If i can sneak into the garage tonight the oberon clutch slave is going on...

  4. Odd day today, first thing drove down to Calne to sign my late sister's parrot over to a representative of Birdline UK who are going to rehome her with one of their volunteers. It means the parrot will continue to be loved and looked after for the rest of her life - which could be another 60 years :Jawdrop:. As I was in that neck of the woods, I popped down to Steve Turner in Melksham and dropped off a pair of NC29 wheels for the full monty. Carole fancies Repsol orange. Swung by MRs on the way home to have look at a set of 848/1098/1198 fairings that had been used on a track bike but not what I wanted. Next stop was to see Carole who has been really unwell this week. Whilst still feeling like s*it, she is on the mend and she told me she had booked us on a weekend motorcycling on Exmoor with a group from TVAM :D. Got home to find I'd missed the postman but was able to pick up the parcel before the post office shut. Like Christmas all over again, a complete 748R throttle body assembly to progress the rebuild of the 748 for the road. Been teetotal for just over a month (on purpose) and lost nearly a stone so going to have a beer tonight to celebrate. Enjoy yourselves people, I know I'm going to. Andy

  6. Last day at the old job today, for either six months or more likely, forever. Didn't feel sad :)

Should be an interesting six months ahead. Similar sort of job ... but a very different sort of customer :)

  12. For the last ten years or so I've arranged a ski/boarding trip to the Alps for up to 16 or so people (sometimes/more often than not including young children).

I've always tried to be supportive of those with children by getting all the adults (including those that go by themselves like me) to pay a bit more to subsidise those with children. However for 2017's trip there has been some increase in the numbers that want to come and with people wanting to bring wives/GF's and more kids along. For the past 3-4 weeks there has been lots of to'ing and fro'ing with people saying they are coming, then saying they can't, then saying they can again. Plus some have been bitching about child care and ski school etc. Neither of which I understand nor can be bothered with. It's all been a bit like herding cats. :confuse:

So yesterday I'd had enough. I finally back-heeled the task of organising next years trip to the people that have been most vocal about costs/timings etc. and told them to get on with it and I'm just going to pay up and turn up like they've all done in the past. Funnily enough they are now bitching that it's a difficult thing to arrange and they are already stressed by everybody's input/comments etc. I've told them it's tough, cos I ain't doing it and babysitting for everyone again. Fuck 'em. If they can't arrange it then I will wait till the last minute and go with a couple of friends on my own :)

However to finish the week on a plus note, tonight, SWMBO and I are off to the theatre to see Pixie Lott in Breakfast at Tiffanys. :)

  20. I was discussing the exact same situation with a m8 of mine last Sunday! His wife is a schoolteacher and he gets a special price to accompany her on the annual school trip which he is fine with (he is a bloody good skier and boarder!).You are expected/willing to herd the kids, help out etc but he has just got back and is totally pissed off with the other parents/relatives who blagged onto the trip and did absolutely fuck all to help out, went off and did their own thing and out partying until early hours so we're totally useless until about lunchtime! Guess what? He's turned round after nearly 8 years of organising the show (it's nearly a full time job with all the elf n safety bollox!) and told them he's had it with them! Watch the whole thing implode into mayhem
