749 Rose Joints

  1. I ve only had my 2003 749 S a few weeks but I ve been working through some of the tidy up jobs. The bike only has 8000 miles and rides very nicely. I have replaced rear shocker and spring for cosmetic reasons, and whilst I was there I took the link arm apart. The Rose joints were corroded and very difficult to remove but I managed to get them out without damaging the link.

I checked out the OEM parts and decided they looked a bit naff and expensive. I found a Motorsports supplier Mc Gill Motorsport on line who were able to provide left and right hand thread rose joints for £12 each including postage. described as Ultra High Performance M12 1.5mm thread. I had a small problem in that I read on a thread that they were 1.25mm thread so that was what I ordered, Mc Gill changed them by return inside 2 days no extra charge. If you are looking to sort yours out I would recommend contacting them Rod Ends, Motorsport parts UK | McGill Motorsport (no relation or connection, just a very happy customer)

Anyone have a preferred Engine belt replacer near to Dorset ??? I want to get mine changed for my own peace of mind.

  2. I used McGill for the same bearings on my 1098R. I also found them to be excellent, really cheap and excellent service. Really pleased with them.
