  1. All of the above is very true.
Also If I want to buy a pressie for someone I will buy a pressie for someone no matter if it is not a special time.
Same goes to showing people you care its an all round thing.

Basically if you like , love or are friends with someone show it all year round not just on that day.

Worse is New Years because at 12 things will not magically change for the better and I loathe the falseness of people.

I am of the ilk if I like you I like you (poor unfortune person!) if I do not like you I don't like you and probably never will there isn't a grey area.

Oh in this town August had our first Christmas shop window display .... how Vile.

I also confess to one year taking home a Christmas tree on Christmas eve as they where getting shot of them.
I put it in our then front garden and decorated it ... because I hate trees being cut down for Christmas even though it is what they are planted for and thought it was a waste and kind of sad the little tree did not forfil its purpose in life.
I know mental , but thats just sadly the way I often think.

  2. well, i'm not a big fan of Christmas period too, i don't hate it but its rather a sad and lonely time for me.
my sis and her family living her dream in usa .... my parents back to eastern Europe ... and the worst thing , can anyone explain why the hell flight ticket that usually cost me not more than £100 gbp return in Christmas period goes up to average £600 return ( not to mention the journey take no longer than 2 hrs ) What a F?!*

  3. Supply and demand....

If people want it, they'll pay for it......and the greedy airlines are making you pay for it.

Wrong but, just the way it is. If nobody travelled in that period then the demand would drop and with it the price.

  4. You can come and stay with me over xmas:wink:

    Can you cook..?

  12. Not a fan of Christmas.
Dislike having time off in bad weather, but fortunately my place of work is only closed on the Bank Holidays. I always offer to work for no extra money, but they never take me up on it. A day off in summer time is worth at least two in the dead of winter.
Family gathering don't enjoy that either - get up late, dish out the obligatory gifts, grab a light lunch and disappear on my mountain bike till it gets dark, hopefully all gone when I get back.

  13. Merry Christmas!

  14. What a bunch of miserable buggers lol

  15. I might serialise A Christmas Carol for you over the festive season.

Talk about a load of Scrooges.

Where's Marley's Ghost when you need him? (No not Bob, before all you Oscar Wildes misinterpret me).

  16. I love it. Time off work spent with family who I live a long way from.I look forward to it, and I even like some of the music.

God I hate that fekkin McCartney number though - that absolutely gets on my nerves.
