Good afternoon every one first outing after fitting new clutch power commander and service .question has any one else has a problem like this . Runs mint but at mid range feels like plug is down them boom full power any ideas thanks
Ho Ho I new it as soon as I posted it us up north ay still fillin our iron wit coal lad and makin whippets do the ironing
Has the PC been adjusted to suit? Does it have a custom map? That would be where I would concentrate as it will definitely effect the fuelling.
It's running a power commander I sent to dyno jet and they mapped it for an end can mmmm good call I might see what they say everything else is fine I even 150 up the motorway and it pulled hard in all gears it's just that stutter especially as you go to overtake ps if your a police man it was only 70 mph
Flipping eck now the new clutch is dragging once it's warm if I take one of the two end steels out will it cure the problw
The PC will need mapping on a dyno, the fuelling will be way off if done by post. What clutch have you used?
I've just put new friction plates in can not i have just put new friction plates in can not remember the name at not at home at the minute
New friction plates can bind in the slots. Take one or two out at the top of the stack and replace them with old ones, that should cure it.
Mmm I've still got all my old plates but I think they are all foobared with no friction material left
That'd be very surprising. Derek on here got well over 30,000 miles out of a set of friction plates Only a temporaray fix till the new plates have bedded in, then take the old ones out and put new ones at the bottom to replace them
The reason the plates lasted so well is that he uses the quiet clutch mod, which stops the tangs on the plates destroying themselves in the basket slots. It also prevents the basket slots from becoming badly notched. Friction plates are generally replaced long before the friction material is worn out because the tangs are knackered.
