Panigale 1199s Led High And Low Beams On Together Mod.

  1. Hi team

Has anybody come across this modification so that on High Beam, the Low beam LED's are on as well?

I have found the High Beam okish/poor down country lanes, the biggest issue is that i cant seem to adjust it's height as its pointing to close to the bike rather than further down the lanes.
(adjusters are for low beam only...)

Now i'm wondering if changing the suspension from "F" to "P" has raised the rear which maybe causing the problem, but i had read that the linkage is for changing the shock profile - not the ride height as there is a specfic ride height adjuster on the ohlins shock ..

  2. Just taken out headlight and removed the black cover on the bottom of the headlight.. and heh presto - there are the main beam V/H adjusters - there is no way you can get to them with the cover on .. crazy design..
I have now put headlight back on, minus cover just to line up on a wall to adjust the main beam ..

Would still like to have both High and Low on when switching to High Beam..

  3. On mine the high beam shines way off down the road. The low is very bright and is up close to the bike. If they were both on at the same time I would not be able to see much beyond the low beam pattern because of the brightness of the low beam.
The high beam on its own is pretty good for night riding.

I really like the switch gear for the low/high beam. I can use it with one finger and keep the finger there comfortably for long periods. Much nicer than the older style rocker switch arrangement which required a thumb to operate.

  4. Yeh i think now i can adjust the main beam H/V i can get it where i want it , it was dangerous to the point of riding at night down a/b roads fairly quickly - you could se ethe bend/apex at all - all i saw was a big bright white circle of light about 50yds in front

  5. Hi razz, forgive me if I am reading this incorrectly but are you saying that you ride with your left index finger permanently pulling the flash to get high beam? Does it not slide down and lock in place until released? 1299 certainly does...

  6. Not quite. I ride at night with my finger poised over the button/lever, ready to dip as another road user approaches.

  7. Haha, thanks for clearing that up, was the way I read it - feared you might be a numpty.....
