I will be changing my subframe to a Ti one. Where is the best place to replace the 4 subframe bolts and to what torque settings? ...as I don't have any info on torque settings. Thanks in advance.
The subframe bolts are M8x30, I replaced mine with titanium. Any Grade 5 titanium bolt will be good. Torque recommendation for an M8 titanium bolt is around 15Nm - isn't that crucial on the subframe since it mounts with nyloc nuts. Out of curiosity - did you find a DP Ti subframe or an NCR one?
Thanks for the responses. I can source a NCR one, but is it really worth the money, when I can get aluminium. I'm just not impressed with the standard ones, esp, the welding is shocking. Also I quite like the aluminium look as I have an ally front clock support. Guess I will have to decide what I want first.
The later black aluminium ones aren't prone to crack. There isn't a lot of weight difference between OEM (~1200g) and NCR (~1070g). How much are you paying for the NCR one? I have one too and thinking of selling it.
Being honest its more about looks, as having a nice Ti or Ally in its natural state, not in black. I have only googled NCR subframes, but they are a tad expensive. I see Febur can make one for £300.00, look lovely, but never had any dealing with their products.
