1200 DVT Cruise Control

  1. Hi all just a couple of questions about cruise control?? It's a feature that I really like that I really thought I wouldn't use.... But Iove lol..... However even with units set to mph each +press only increases by 1km/h @a time and not mph?? I KNOW this is really picky but is there a workaround?? Also does anyone else noticed/have any tips for smoothness when turning cruise control off? I do try if anything to open throttle a little then turn cruise control off? Otherwise the bike which feels as Smootb and asight as a feather feels like it's run into a brick wall

  2. Yep.........press it twice :)

  3. doh I know that lol

  4. Was sure mine was mph??

  5. Smoothness issue open the throttle and turn it off :)

  7. And as the back brake does absolutely sod all you don't even feel it lol

  8. Same here - I open the throttle then turn it off, which makes it nice and smooth. First time I turned it off without doing this at motorway speeds felt like the bike it a brick wall as the engine braking kicked in.

  9. On the French motorways last month I actually discovered that shutting the throttle to the stop works well and is less jerky, once you are past a slower car then just hit Resume without actually turning it off.

I really like this as well, didn't think I would use it much but on a long motorway run it's so relaxing.

One of the other guys in our group tried riding with no hands (surprisingly difficult) whilst stretching his legs sitting on the pillion set (probably not to e recommended), which got some funny looks from a car he was passing!

  10. Also in the "didn't think I'd use it but..." camp.
If I'm approaching a lower-speed area, I find it useful to pull in the clutch, then rev up for the next gear down. That said, my regular pillion prefers me to throttle-up and hit the off-button; apparently that's a fraction smoother :)

As for the increment when you're changing speed, I wouldn't be surprised if the firmware operates natively in Km, and converts to miles only for displaying in that format. One set of code being a lot easier to verify and debug than two parallel sets supposedly doing the same thing, this makes intuitive sense to me.

  11. Again I didn't think I would use it but it became very useful on stretches of 'average speed camera' dual carriageways ;):upyeah:
