  1. wally,, happened to me in spain last month,, gobbled my card for no reason on friday evening,, phoned my bank in scotland they said no reason , not their doing,, went into bank on monday morn and got my card back,,, could have been very inconvenient if i had not had alternative source of cash,, not even an apology from the bank..

  2. Airbox arrived.. getting a little bit closer to getting back on the road. Just going round the bike and making lists and checks... 20160705_114758.jpg

Need an air filter. I think the type that covers both throttle bodies will be my preference.
A few other bits to get and sort. It won't be finished how I want it but it will be a bit closer.. I need to either remove speedo drive or sort clearance out too.

  3. What foot pump did you get - was going to buy a decent one but they all appear to be crappo quality - can you actually buy a well engineered one these days?

  4. If you mean this type, you can't use them with the 998 shower setup

    IMG00015-20090427-1647.jpg

    You can use this type

    MC-020-94 748-916-996 02.jpg

    Or this type

  5. I have ordered the last type.. which is not what I wanted but it was in stock. My (998) airbox does not look like that so I hope they fit, the kit said it fits all models.

  6. Yeah they'll fit, the air inlets are the same across models even though the airbox shape & TB's are different :upyeah:

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  7. It's a Silverline. It was cheap and looking at the quality just now its fine for the money (£13.77 delivered)

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  8. That's the one I was considering :upyeah:

  9. Heavy, good and solid, worked as it was supposed to and the gauge was accurate enough to trust

  10. Witnessed a horrendous accident today! Was sitting in Waitrose,Sunningdale car park waiting for girlfriend to finish wasting my poke on pre cut baton carrots and other lazy fukker fodder when I heard a screaming small car engine! Yes,it was a Honda Jazz - the preferred choice of transport of the nearly departed? Some 80/90 yr old girl (bless her)had got her pedals confused and was well into rev limiter territory - fair enough I thought - it's her £20,000 (yes £20K!!!) but then she selected drive on her jazzomatic - she missed all the MLs,Rangeys,Cayenne's etc and T boned one of those total shite Indian "Lambrettas" destroying 30 of its 40 mirrors and actually managed to wedge it fully under the Jazz - quite a feat for a little 1.4 shopping car? She was a bit shaken up the poor old girl but I had to tell the spotty plastic mod to wind his neck in when he started the daft old cow routine!

  11. Why, spotty youth was totally right... you'd be telling a different version if it had been your girlfriend stuck under the car after innocently walking across the car park.
If the old girl did that she shouldn't be on the roads methinks !

  12. Oh - I forgot about your 100% accident record

  13. What has my accident record, about which you know nothing by the way, got to do with this ?
I wasn't the one who lost control of a car in a car park now was I ?

  14. Read an interesting article today:
The Highways Agency found over 200 dead crows on the M4 near Bridgend recently, and there was concern that they may have died from Avian Flu. A Pathologist examined the remains of all the crows, and, to everyone's relief, confirmed the problem was NOT Avian Flu. The cause of death appeared to be from vehicular impacts. However, during analysis it was noted that varying colours of paints appeared on the ...bird's beaks and claws. By analysing these paint residues it was found that 98% of the crows had been killed by impact with motorbikes, while only 2% were killed by cars.
The Agency then hired an Ornithological Behaviourist to determine if there was a cause for the disproportionate percentages of motorbike kills versus car kills. The Ornithological Behaviourist quickly concluded that when crows eat road kill, they always have a look-out crow to warn of danger. They discovered that while all the lookout crows could shout "Cah", not a single one could shout "bike"

  15. Going back to the footpump thing I bought one years ago from Halford (double barrelled) which had a lot of use and broke but I would say i got my money's worth... Thought I'll save some money and get one eBay.... Bought a draper one (same type but different make) cheaper and then fell to pieces are about 3 months... So I'm guessing draper in name but Chinese in make. Bought another one from Halford (Michelin this time, same type with a digital pressure guage) and had it ever since.... About 3 years now and it still works fine... You get what yer pays for...

An eBay link but it is Halford...
