As above....slowly I'm getting to the larger, more costly upgrades and the next on the list for the hyper is a slipper clutch....just wondered if anyone had done the conversion, how long it took and what the differences were....ive heard that they are lighter also...as in, lighter on the lever action....mines pretty light already but lighter again is always better....
Bit off topic but I loved the slipper on my ZX6R Loves banging down the gears and dropping the clutch and not much engine breaking, I'm a 2 stroke fan and I'd have no engine breaking at all if I could
If you want one I've just had one taken out. Only done 500 miles with it but I didn't really get on with it. Can't say how easy it is to get in/out as I got the dealer to do it. Bit grabby I found.
I think it's an STM one. I pick it up from the dealer on Saturday. Will drop you some pics and go from there. Won't be a daft price though.
No... Don't think mine (1100 evo sp) has one. The rsv4 does though... Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

So, re the fettling thread I was over my mates house last night doing a few jobs on the hyper one of which was the main reason I was over his place...one of the others was the slipper clutch.... What I perceived to be witchcraft for stopping the grabby clutch actually worked....sort of...and the sort of was me not being totally thorough... Used some black lithium grease (others have used white) some have used black. Downside: at high revs last night on the way home - ie cracking the throttle open id get some slip. But, this is due to the fact I didn't clean off all of the grease residue from the plates. I did get less slip this morning on the way to work and just to be clear I'm only getting a slight bit of slip when gassing it.... Upside: I'm on my third hyper now and its the smoothest clutch ive ever had by a long way so it looks like its the thing to do....ill be stripping it again tonight to clean of the plates thoroughly but, so far so very good!
Now you've sussed how to get it working properly I'll have it back  glad it's working good for you
Well, I'm not out of the woods yet....its still slipping a bit under full gas so see what happens later...
when you strip out all the plates again I would be interested to know how many dished plates are within the stack. They should be easy to identify as the clutch is new. I don't know how different the STM is to the Bucci in that regard, but the Bucci ( and standard clutch set-up for that matter) dished plates have one punched dot on a 'tooth'.
My clutch pack is from the original stock clutch that I had on there.....I know the last but one bloke did track it a couple of times and Rich did say while it was apart "this has never been apart...." - so I'm not sure on the state of my plates as a whole...
Summarizing on my ownership of my hyper since ive bought it.... 1. Bought with beer goggles and from the other side of the country so when I went to collect it, it there would have had to have been something seriously wrong with it for me to come home empty handed but I always wanted an sp - never thought I would own one but here we go (mostly down to an amazing wife I might add) 2. While the lad I bought it from was nice I think to a certain extent he just rode the thing and the upkeep was shoestring to a certain extent. 3. For me the main thing was it recently had its last engine service with valve check completed so I knew the engine was good. 4. All the things ive found are where the shoestring budget has been applied. They've all been a bit of a pain but easily sorted....eg the clutch basket in there is showing signs of wear but as the clutch pack has been re-arranged then it should be ok for the moment. Plus ive got the spare one that came with the slipper which is in really good nick so ill be buying another clutch pack and assembling a "full replacement" so when this one finally give up ive got everything to swap it out... Ive got some more stuff to add to the fettling thread still...
Took the plates out again and cleaned the excess off..... Again less slip (hardly anything now) so it could be highlighting the plates are worn or the springs ain't strong enough for the job... Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
Well, as I said, there is one in there... Ive got a couple of spare friction plates but rich advised against it as he said if the stack height went above 37mm the slipper wouldn't "slip" very well! Sent from my SM-P900 using Tapatalk
I think I'm there....took the plates out again this morning and as advised my my mate cleaned them with brake cleaner and that seems to have done the trick - when i took the plates out this morning there was a tiny bit of residue on the steel plates - about half as much as last time so cleaned them again - at its worst i lost the ability to lift the front off the throttle in second and third but ive got that back again. And in top gear i could snap it open and it would easily slip....i reckon if I'm picky i reckon ive got about 5% slip at the top end of the top gear...so i may, do it again next weekend. Just to add ive still got the smooth pull away like i always did. (since i applied the lithium grease.)
