Any advice or links for replacement bearings for the front of my 748s? Also brake pads for the front as well. Called Ducati and they were £88 each side. They did have 30% off apparently so would be a bit cheaper. But still seems like a lot, so any advice on replacement parts would be appreciated.
I have tried a few and now just go with Brembo pads same spec as OEM but in a Brembo box instead of Ducati, plenty of sellers on line. They are around £70 a set front £30 rear. There are many recommended on here but I have never got on with Performance Friction or EBC, Carbone Lorraine have been OK but none of them had the feel and wear you get (with road use) from the original spec. For the bearings if you have a look you will see a code number etched into the bearing side on the outer race. This code number is a standard used internationally for the bearing type/size, seal type/size. Just call a bearing supplier like Eriks with that number Bearings - Products and Services or your local bearing/seal/industrial belt supplier and he will quote top quality or OEM or better spec replacements. Bearings like SKF at the real price - we are talking a fraction of the cost for most bearings from franchised dealers. However do not give up on Ducati parts and always get a price first. Moto Rapido (ask for Craig Richardson) are one of the best Ducati spares suppliers and will ship overnight.
Seconded on the craig recommendation just ordered stuff from him v responsive and keen pricing if you ask nicely
cant agree more with the rapido call. Have bigged em up many times on here. Got some bits offa them the other day ( first this year) and craig recognised my voice and started looking for the best price he could do without me asking. Best supplier ever!
and here was me thinking it was the kiwi accent or he's just on the ball.... I shall hold my breath before I start talking next time! Mind you, maybe he likes the heavy breathing...
