748 Help Bike Wont Start

  1. New battery and over the course of the past few days a lot of contacts / relays have been removed, contact cleaner sprayed on and some clean up before refitting

    fuel pump primes but starter does not kick in... what steps to take to get to the cause?

    sidestand cut out relay first?

  2. Have you checked the starter solenoid on front of battery holder? Bridge the two main contacts to see if starter spins!

  3. i think that loose 2 pin connector you see in the pics might be an issue??

  5. Your rear brake looks to have a lot of adjustment on it, it needs a bit of slack (5 mm) or so otherwise you might find your rear brake gradually sticking on as it heats up until it almost locks on.

  6. Birdie thats a good spot - I need to check how much meat is left on those pads as well
     
  7. good tip is to use a tie wrap to hold that two pin socket in to the back of the starter solenoid as it does have a tendency to work lose.
     
  8. Yes I noticed that cornerspeed have a solenoid mod to stop the blighter popping off

  10. Had that,two brake pads and a brake piston later......
