1200 Pikes Peak What's It Like

  1. I haven't replied to this post as yet, preferring to wait and see what came out.
I guess it's no great suprise to find those that bought a PP seem to be very happy and those that didn't seem to think it's overpriced.

    So here's my two penneth.

I tested the Multistrada having owned a WC GS1200 for three years and never really got on with it. One of the reasons was the electronic suspension, it always felt a little choppy to me.

None the less, I tried the Multi and loved it, apart from the suspension, which was alright but I felt in terms of feedback, it was missing a few %.

So after much delibertion I pulled the trigger on a 2016 PP.

And very happy I am too. The suspension suits my style of riding and gives the feedback I'm looking for. After a visit to Reactive Suspension, I'm confident it will be even better.

I'm not going to tell fibs, having the extra bits and pieces that come with the PP made me very happy and I like the idea of having a Multi that is just that little bit rarer. Shallow? Maybe!

Did I pay too much? Possibly. Do I care? Not really!

  2. I'm not really bothered about the money within reason, it's whether it makes me happy.

  3. Its actually 6k more for Ohlins and a few bits of carbon, as the standard DVT is 13k. For under 16k with the "S", you already get fancy pants skyhook. However, I have an "S" but also love the look of the PP. I guess its all down to personal taste and the decision lies with if you can swallow the outlay for some paint and an end can ? For me, I think the skyhook is a very good setup and the PP smacked of being a little bit dear for what they put on it.
