I renewed my bt broadband deal this month, I received an e mail telling me my deal was ending and if I renewed I would not be charged some bloody bt sport charge and I would operate under the same terms , soo idiot me thought ok, now iv got a bill for £ 57.99 for one month, £20.99 line rental ,£26 bt infinity 1 broadband, £6 bt sport and£5 bt sport hd package. Before I renewed I tried to find out what I was to pay but the bastards make the web site a maze that you can't negotiate and if you want to talk to a human and wait on phone long enough you can talk to someone in Calcutta . I queried my charges only to be told the £15 broadband is for new customers ,free bt sport for new customers, the 18.99 line rental is for direct debit. I'm now tied into a contract with the gents till next August. If your due to renue be bloody careful.bt Feckers.
Yep, terrible how these companies treat loyal customers. I'm switching to BT next month from Virgin for the same reason.
We're with BT too and their website is an absolute nightmare - trying to work out what you're paying for and why is goddamn impossible! Which I'm sure is completely intentional... :rage:
If you think BT are slow and shite don't ever move to Spain and try and get Telefonica to sort you out a landline! When I first moved to Marbs some of my neighbours had been waiting 3+ years! I went to a local bar where I had seen the "technicians" suppin San Miguel, coffee with large Torres Brandy every day - palled up a fat sweaty donkey killer with more than a passing resemblance to Sadd Hussain - parted with €75 in readies and 2 days later I was live! His brother in law also sorted me a chipped up digi box for €150 with no bills and all the spurt n films I could handle.Great system
Plus net, it's a BT subsidiary but fantastic customer service, you get to speak to someone in Sheffield and they ring you back!! On the sport front I just got me self an android box thingy on recommendation of a colleague, another £9.99 on e bay for instructions and a log on and hey presto...... Free films and sky sports channels, amaze balls!!
Renew my broadband contract wit bt on www thinking id get same cost as last year but its doubled. Cust svcs due a call ehen im in shit mood.
Yep I'm the same, call customer service of you like but they will leave you more fecked off I spoke to mr Indian and got nowhere. They are professional feckers.
I will be having my regular moan off. 1.2-1.5 gb download while my neighbours get 3.5gb but they wont come to fix whatevers wrong because they only g'tee 1gb.
I have been having issues with virgin cable for the last 10 months or so. The speed is advertised at 50mb yet I often have 3mb. They told me it would be repaired by May but still the same. I have been with them for years and have a full package so didn't want the faff of changing providers. Each time I have rang Albert in India I was promised credits anything between £5.00 and £15.00, check the bills, zero credit. Just about had enough of them now but feel like Its better the devil you know as they are all pants from what I hear. I get fed up of ringing the robots and being passed from pillar to post, guaranteed each call takes an hour out of my life with nothing resolved.
I switched from BT to Sky a few months ago. Same reasons as most other in that primarily our BT wifi was shite, 4 mbps most of the time when BT were saying we were getting 8. Constantly calling customer services to be fobbed off by the punjab prince of promise. Eventually whilst we were having Sky Q installed the engineer spoke with Sky who said they could guarentee us 17.6 mbps. Skepticlly I binned BT and switched to Sky since then we're always getting 17mbps.
We are with BT, they are fantastic at providing slow speed internet. I could up load a video onto YouTube within a week. Really pleased with service. 5 star feedback.
Give Sky a shout, I was very sceptical about Skys claims what with the signal coming down the same cables that BT/Openreach own but happy to say that Sky came good on their promise.
I've found that rebooting the hub restores the broadband speed with Virgin - no idea why... Speed can get as low as 8mbps but a reboot takes it back up to 180 or so
Just rebooted and got this! Ping Download Upload 58 ms 224.10 Mb/s 10.28 Mb/s Not your provider? Virgin Cable
Iv'e spent hours and hours with them on the phone old rider. They seem to be able to push a better speed through sometimes whilst I am on with them then as soon as the call is over it appears throttled back again. They claim its a fault on the line from the nearest municipal box. They are terrible to deal with and I would not recommend them to anyone. I will have to dig in and have a look around elsewhere.
Just checked, download is 5.09Mbps and upload 1.99Mbps. Excellent. Please don't get all jealous that I have such a great deal.
