Motorcycle (on Back Of Van) Trailer Recommendation

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by AirCon, Aug 27, 2016.

  1. I've just had a tow bar fitted to the back of my sprinter.
40cm top of tow ball to ground.

I'm looking for an occasional use trailer, one that I can take apart and store.
I recently saw on at the ACE that came apart within 5 minutes to be stored in the back of an estate car.

If possible I'd like it to take two adventurer sized bikes.
I did find a website, but can't find it again...about £800 inc spare wheel.

Many thanks to the collective hive for your thoughts.

@El Toro I couldn't work out which forum was most appropriate.
Please can you leave my post here for a few days before your OCD kicks in and it gets moved somewhere dark and lonely.

  3. I have a MotoLug dismantleable trailer @AirCon . If you like, you could try out my one on your van before deciding to buy one of your own. PM me if this sounds useful. Peter

  4. Search 'ex AA bike trailer' they sometimes come up

  5. Thanks Paul, I've made my purchase now.

  6. Just made a purchase, thanks Peter.

  7. OK, good luck with it.

  8. @El Toro you can move this post now...:Angelic:

  9. Nice one!
I've seen a few of those newer ones are various events. Not sure what purpose the front beams can serve, other than a trip hazard.
They don't look sturdy enough to use as strap anchor points.

  10. Just a suggestion @AirCon . When you are about to load or unload a bike, be sure to detach the number plate / tail lamp brackets at the rear of the trailer first. Otherwise you will find the bike fouls the brackets and causes damage. Don't ask how I know this.

  11. No they are not sturdy enough too use as anchor points. They carry white reflectors facing forward.

  12. 8" wheels?

  13. I have to say 8" does not look all that big to me. But maybe it seems plenty to you ...

  14. Radius....If I have 16" or 17" I'd be like
