Just a quick one. Bought some engine mounting bolt ebay they arrived today. they where advertised as 900/750/600ss fitment, put them in frame and there not long enough. Can anybody tell me the correct length of bolts please, before i go and have a hissy fit with seller. The bolts I have are 235mm in length from top of bolt head to tip of thread.
I reckon the rear one should be nearer 275mm overall length..........I can't check properly because my frame plugs are buggers to keep in if I have removed them, but I have judged the position of the bolt head in the frame socket from a phto when I had no frame plugs.
Though a Monster, the engine is the same and I would think the frame dimensions probably are too? I have just measured (from underside of head so actual bolt length) front = 250mm, rear = 240mm (but the rear threads into the frame rather than using a nut so can be shorter) both are 10mm Allen headed bolt. FWIW although the engine is the same width, 916 uses a 225mm rear bolt (M10) with hex head which measures 235 to top of bolt head (the frame is rebated deeper plus there is no nut as it threads into the frame) so it sounds like you have 916 (or similar) bolts...
