Owned by Chris, very good mechanic and reasonably priced £40/hr. http://www.motorcycleservicingtamworth.com/ I have used him and will do again.
i live in Tamworth.. i speak for myself and other bikers..i had a puncture in my rear tyre on my 1098..i asked him how much to repair and he said ,it want be much mate,so 15 minutes later when the repair was done .he releaved me off £35 i couldnt beleave it..other chaps have told me that he says one price then bumps it up by saying he had to do this and that blah blah blah..as long as ive got hole in my backside i want be using him again
Doesn't sound too bad to me, 35 Quid, 1/4 hrs labour, materials, profit, plus he probably had to come off another job as well. Meh, whatever.
Well I still use him and stand by what I say. He collected my bike, took my engine out the frame, dropped off the rolling chassis, completely dismantled the 996 engine to show me the damage and the price for all this? A lot Less than £200.
Chris was the Ducati mechanic over the road when it was 'Devimead' ( showing my age ) probably about 15 years ago. Sure he knows his stuff on the older models. He used to own a 998R. The times I've asked him for a price he always seems on a par with JHP !!
i wouldnt go and have my ducati 1198s serviced there as he hasnt got the latest equipment for newer models..if anyone has any sence they would take it to JHP Ducati Coventry as they have cutting edge technology, it would be like having the latest BMW and taking it to joe bloggs the mechanic, who has very little knowledge on this make and the specialised equipment...
