Are You Smarter Than Donald Trump

  1. Complete nonsense, obviously. If I wave my fist under your nose, that's an assault. If I threaten to hit you, that's an assault. If I actually touch you, that's an assault and battery. If I touch your genitals, that's a sexual assault. It makes no difference whether you "resist" or not. You might have validly consented, provided the consent was informed and you were competent to give it. Whether you actually did validly consent is a question of fact.

  2. perhaps i should have said if she / he ( or anybody ) were " compliant " ( or willingly let / allowed ) then that is not an assault...

  3. Closer.

Trump said that he was in the habit of putting his hand on women's "pussies" (as he put it). If what he said was not a lie, these would clearly be sexual batteries unless the women consented. If the woman omitted to fight him off or complain to the police, that does not amount to consent. If she was his own wife or girlfriend, there might very well be consent - if she was a stranger to him (and was someone else's wife), that could hardly be assumed.

Incidentally, a women can commit a sexual assault on a man in just the same way; the main difference is that men rarely complain.

  4. closer still,,,,,,,,,,,,,, who comes up with these terms like " battery ",,,,,,,,, obv someone who has never had a proper " battering " . alas we live in the world of hyperbole .

  5. imagine what the Trump camp would do to a woman who actually came forward with an assault claim

    doesnt bear thinking about

  6. From what I'm hearing from the US we might not have to wait long to find out...

  7. "Battery" has been a word in the English language for many centuries; it means touching or hitting, but without necessarily implying injury. An assault causing injury (e.g. cuts, bruising) is assault occasioning actual bodily harm. If the assault causes serious injury (e.g. broken bones), that is assault occasioning grievous bodily harm. If the assault is even more serious so as to lead to the risk of death, that might amount to attempted murder. Hope this helps.

  8. Yes, let's speculate: insulting, threatening, bullying, undermining, denial even in the teeth of incontrovertible evidence. And that's just for starters. For a rape allegation, all that would double.

  9. Donald Trump appeared for years on the US version of The Apprentice. Following the recent release of the out-take tapes about Trump's abusive behaviour, its producer Bill Pruitt has said, "I assure you: when it comes to the Trump tapes there are far worse." We await the leaking of these further out-take recordings with interest.

  10. It wont matter. Ths voting for him are either men with the same 'locker room' mentality or women who consider it normal' to be treated like that. Its gods way...in many ways mid america seems similar to the middle east.

  11. Unfortunately its not quite as simple as that. A lot of those voting Trump are doing so because they cannot bear Clinton or the brand of globalist/corporatist world government politics she represents. What an awful choice they've been given.

  12. Bit like here, but more so, a country that says 'how not to get yourself raped' to girls rather than 'how to respect and know when No means No' to boys tuition in schools says all you nee to know.

  13. What's extraordinary is how the Republicans came to land themselves with Trump. The Presidency should have been theirs for the taking. Clinton even makes Democrats cringe. Almost anyone should be able to beat her yet Republicans have picked about the only candidate in the country who makes her look electable. Imagine Cherie Blair in a live election debate here with her husband gurning in the front row: guaranteed landslide for the opposition.
    Bizarre times.

  14. I may not be very smart (that's a completely different subject) but even I know that the US election is not the 28th November - Trumpty Dumpty just told his supporters to go out and vote for him 20 days after the election - not very smart !
He must have got the election confused with the start of his fraud trial over the Trump University case - that does start on 28th November.

  15. Back in 1989, five black youngsters were convicted of raping a white woman in Central Park, New York and Donald Trump took out adverts calling for them to be executed (although it was not even a homicide case). Years later, DNA evidence and other evidence proved conclusively that it was another man who had committed the rape; the five were exonerated, their convictions were vacated, and eventually they have been paid compensation.

Last week Trump was challenged to withdraw and apologise for his death penalty call against these innocent black men.

His response has since been overshadowed by his numerous sexual assaults coming to light, but what was it? Trump insisted that the five men were guilty - ignoring the evidence which proves they were not. The entire concept that miscarriages of justice can occur has gone straight over his head.

  19. President Trump is an insane nightmare coming far too close to reality in a superpower near you. Here's a way to try and prevent it happening. Yes, it is your problem. Yes, you are interfering in the democratic process of another country - it's your duty as a human being.
