That was in response to green power generation being a long way off, when the reality is the oil companies and governments are blocking that. Nothing to stop most of us being self sufficient with Solar on our homes... The only thing stopping their vehicles being electric is cost, but that will come down over the next 5-10 years...
the cost for running your vehicals will never come down. There may be a swing in how they are powered ,be it for environmental ( which i doubt is the case) or political reasons but the major players will still play you. There will be taxes on generating your own energy and little or no taxes on big company's to do so and sell to you.
The cost of running a hybrid Golf GTE is already significantly cheaper for me. Mileage, road tax, BIK tax, no congestion charge... Whilst I agree the cost of buying someone else's electricity may not significantly decrease, you won't be taxed for generating your own electricity.
you wont be taxed for generating your own electricity? Lol... Not trying to be rude to you at all but if you think any government in the world is going to turn their backs on the taxes gathered from fossil fuel, to let you do your own thing, I think you are dreaming!
Well, they currently pay us for the excess we generate.... however, the rest of you can continue not to generate your own because that helps those of us that do.....
not to sure in this country, but in NZ, it used to be ( im a lil out of touch)illegal to grow and process tobacco (by or for an individual) as it was too difficult to tax, kind of weird given its a legal substance but pot ( an illegal substance) would get you in less trouble .
used to get free congestion charges in london for lpg vehicals.. You don't anymore. Used to be alot cheaper to by diesel... Used to get free solar panels as they were subsidised you don't any more ( actually that may not be a fact but you get where I'm going with this?)
Yes, but those are tax breaks that have been reduced/removed, not new taxes. I think the government would find it very hard to justify taxing for renewable energy or collecting rainwater...
My dog could pull me along on a pushbike or a trolley.....................I wonder what taxation could be introduced for that........... ......don't tell me 'upkeep of the roads, cleaning dog sh*te off them'........... .......or dog excise license.......... ........or has that already been done and phased out? Dog Poll Tax, maybe? Trolley excise license? Pushbike excise license and insurance?.................(Now there's a good idea).... It doesn't matter what anybody comes up with you can be sure it will be taxed. Remember the joke about Jews with big nostrils?......Because the air is free....... Wait for it........grow a small nose and you will be safe. PS.......As far as I know I'm half jewish, my boy......
shhh... Last time i said anything about being jewish I faced a ban because of a few compliants... ( funny that it was in good humor whilst in the same thread I was taking the piss outta being Muslim and no one minded) the walls have ears my boy
So................they ban me for being half Jewish and not owning a Ducati anymore...................
( no insult intended to any person ) in spain there used to be assistance / grants for people to install solar panels,, that has been stopped and there is now a tax on all solar panels , ( domestic or otherwise .)
the government as it turns out , doesn't have to justify anything really.. Just implement change and blame the necessity to do so on their predecessors'.. Seems to have worked on the public so far. Tried and tested. . Even if they didn't tax the rain water they would tax fuck out of the buckets used to collect it.
Marvelous! Out of interest, how does a tax like that even work? You pay tax when you purchase them, but is there a tax per panel per year?!
yes , dont know how often is due,, annual or per month,, but there are dedicated inspectors !! ( not sure if you can claim discount for days when sun dont shine !! )
