Can anyone assist with explaining how to take the mirror apart on a 1098s - I noticed that the indicator lens is rattling loose in the mirror arrangment - I have detached the mirror from the bike but can not see for the life of me how to remove either the mirror iteslf or the lens attachment so that I can check what is causing the lens to be loose. sorry for the noob question, but I dont want to force it out only to find that there was some clip or something that needed sorting first. I have added a couple of pics to show which type of mirror arrangement I am talking about. Cheers in advance peeps. Stu
The older mirror glass just sorta popped out of a round joint type thing in the mirror. Is there a hole under the Assembly? Stick a screw driver up it, loosen then pop the glass out.
Thanks for that Chris, looks like the turn signal lens should just "pop out" which probably means the fact that it is loose, one of the clips holding it in has broken off - will try and take a look later. When I tried to pry it out on saturday it seemed to be held in place quite securely - not going to put too much force into it and if it doesn't give easily will end up getting someone who knows what they are doing to look at it.
