Vulturbike do the sticker kit. You would have to pick up some fairings to put them on (if you didn't want them on yours)... vulturbike
Out of interest, why not race fairings? Because the DP race fairings are the same material as the standard fairings, will take the lights if you want them, and isn't too pricey at £440. You would have to add a few hundred on for paint, but still significantly less that road fairings, and they would have more potential buyers if you ever wanted to get rid of them.
Been told race fairings are not possible to fit a road bike because of headlight and taillight fittings. Also would like prepainted road fairings to save some money
The DP fairings are direct fit! Full blown race fairings like crc etc will likely require aftermarket subframes etc
Well, the DP ones are possible with the road fittings. You could get them painted for £200-£300, so with the sticker kit you are looking at ~£800ish. You would be hard pushed to buy a complete road kit for that, and you still need to add the sticker kit. I'm definitely going with the DP kit for road and track use.
hiya on another issue I got a zero gravity double bubble screen to replace my stock 1299 one. its not as tall as the stock original.i know its got the bubble but do you think it will be better than the original or not before I put it on. the corsa screen is higher than the original I know.does anyone know ?
I have no issues with the screens. The old 1098/848 were a lot lower and needed the higher screen. I personally wouldn't bother with the hassle of changing it now, especially when aftermarket screens are being blamed for the cracked screens (even if I don't think they make a difference to that).
Well, probably yes, if you want all that extra hassle and cost to end up with the earlier style of fairing.
I run 1199 fairings on my new R so that both bikes use the same body work. There are more secondhand 1199 fairings around than 1299 so it makes sense for a trackbike. You just need to change the nose fairing stay as @Jolley says. It's pretty easy if you are already changing to track fairings anyhow. The main problem you have to deal with is the IMU which is mounted on the top of the light unit in the nose so a few of the plastics and mounts are different between 11 and 1299. If you are fitting aftermarket then you have to spend ~£150 on a bracket for the IMU, with the DP fairings you get the light blanks that do all this.
