  2. I'm sorry guys I should not respond but hey it's Friday and I've seen others have been upset by this type of crap on other posts....and I know it's self-fulfilling so I take my share of the blame.

Umbra are you referring to me? or the person who questioned the post also? that prompted the reply or just everyone that responded in general? I can see what type of person you are, baiting hey. 10/10

My first post was obvious if read properly without misquoting.. My English and proof reading is not my strength so I get that. The second to explain it in detail which I rarely have time for, so it limits what I post on some topics.

Some people are interested in others views or perspectives, I thought that's how this worked.

Now it seems you would decide what should and should not be posted?? and you decide what is a fair response.
I.e. I can not respond?.. so people can be mocked as in this case but not reply? go on then big man, I will bite.

Other people posted dick heads etc in this thread, yet you did not comment or disapproval of that? but you say ffs a head is in the road. A person could think double standards with that response...

Other forum users. I understand (my problem not theirs if I don't) their point of view perhaps it was (what if they hurt someone else) Me personally loss of life is tragic. I doubt they went out to hurt others, were having fun and did not think it would go wrong. I am sure they will be missed. I doubt you give a shit for reasons above, was just a cheap pop.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. I've ridden like twat and broke bones and my mates laughed and there would have been consequences if anyone else got hurt. I've seen lots of death in my life.

As for how, I will spend my time. It will be how I see fit.
If I am not at work with backache and awaiting deliveries and doing paperwork I'm good with that.

These witty replies that mock others only seem ignorant to me... now I'm the hypocrite and bad guy.

Only nasty people would like that kind of post or encourage people with a common shared interest to fall out.
This is Ducati forum as far as I can see a bit of a community that do meet up. This is not the type of post I prefer to write. I like to help people and take an interest.

  3. I think its good personally that you posted it - keeps people (someone like me) in check....brings home what can happen (its a bit extreme but hey its done the job for me). I dont think ive ever ridden like that but in turn have taken some stupid chances in my life...every now and again something like this pops up and for me it works...as i said i do think it was bound to happen with the speeds involved (assuming they'd ridden like that before) maybe me saying "they got what they deservered" or along the like may have been a bit harsh but it was something given the law of averages was going to happen....

  4. I recounted the contents of this thread to a retired (10 years ago) traffic cop friend of mine today, he wasn't shocked but I sensed him bringing down shutters as I told the story. He said that he used to remember images of all the fatal accidents and horrific scenes he witnessed as he drove past the locations where the accidents took place, but that he doesn't anymore. I wished I had said nothing.

This might be shocking to some of us, but it isn't that unusual, and a reality check might be justified for those of us who have lived sheltered lives.

  5. Its the old "balance" thing though isnt it.....you live a life in cotton wool and wonder at the end "what did i do with my life" or a the other end your an extreme sports adreneline junkie....personally if i get to the end and my body is beaten about and stuff doesnt work cos of accidents/stuff thats happened in my life then ill be happy....at least it got used...just not too much though....currently im at achy back, right hand nerves totally shot and a couple of teeth missing at 47 so im well on track...

Oh yeah - and a shed load of scars on arms, legs, shins (BMX's) etc etc

  9. Most people seem to agree with the general concensus. Ride at these speeds on a public road, not a race track designed to mitigate the severity of an accident, and you literally are rolling the dice. It's a sobering reminder of human frailty and that the road is a very unforgiving place, if you choose to ride this hard. I sympathise with the loss of life and for those relatives involved but at the same time, whether calculated or not, this kind of riding is at best very risky and at worst, needs no further explanation, as the outcome graphically illustrates.

  10. Blimey, that was horrific viewing. I normally refuse to view gory videos of this type but it helps focus the mind. Next time some nutter steams past and I decide to knock it down a few gears and take on the challenge, I'm gonna remember those legs scattered across the road.

Very sobering as I've definitely ridden like that a few times back in my 20's, albeit around the 160 range.

  11. Be interesting to know how much the speed was upped by due to the "I've got a camera and this'll look good on YouTube" effect...

  12. I ride daily with a camera, you honestly forget it's there most of the time, sometimes it actually brings me back in check because I know there is a possibility of the footage being used against me one day.

My guess is this way simply red mist , in the zone racing your mates. This was extreme but sometimes in that moment, common sense & level thinking go out of the window.

    Sobering video.

  13. Where/when was this?

I've not seen the extreme version as the links not working for me but I'm not going looking for it as I think I'd rather not see it.

  14. Be careful what you search for.
For the how to get a bike in a car thread I googled "motorcycle on top of car. Images" or something like that. Got more than I was looking for. Its all out there - South America, South East Asia, mopeds, scooters, lorry wheels etc all in technicolour...

  15. If you were doing 186 you wouldnt know, panigales speedo goes blank at 185 :Woot:

  16. Fastest I've been is 174 indicated, across the A272 on a blade. If you thought about the consequences, you'd r
do yourself a favour and dont :)

  17. fastest I've been recorded doin was 144 with an average speed of 114 over 2 miles on the m23.. Thats kmph btw... It didn't feel unsafe. The officer that pulled me obviously didn't think it looked unsafe either as the summons he promised didn't turn up. Point is i was going as fast as my 748 would go and should it have gone faster I would have done it because I could. Not cause of cameras or mates coz there was neither ( well turns out there was a camera) but because there was,a,stretch of road the lent itself to it. That said, dog fighting and carving up cars at those speeds is likely to upset the clean up crew sooner or later..

  18. To be honest if you fire your soft and fleshy body into steel Armco at a third of that speed its going to cut you up like a bacon slicer. The moral of the story is, don't.

  19. 15 mph crash 20 feet from home has bust my foot in 3'places and seen me of work for 8 weeks so far. It's luck of the draw. But at warp speed the odds are against you

  20. And how is your foot doing, @chizel ? Better yet?
