After much deliberation I have bought myself a 66 reg 1299, would like to say thanks to the guys at DMC in stoke, for answering my daft questions, and cannot wait until next Friday when they deliver it. Photos to follow.
Congrats, enjoy the bike when you get it. You may want to consider taking out the extended warranty at time of registration ( I'm not sure if it's been offered to you?) if you intend on keeping the bike longer than two years. Currently it's not available after registration & some dealers don't seem to be proactive in promoting it. Just a heads up pal.
