Serious query-do you have to pay tax twice-once to French govt, once to GB govt? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
@finm any idea what the minimum range of a Trident missile is ? I am just looking at all possibilities from a theoretical standpoint you understand
Excuse me Bob but you get a tax free allowance (Personal Allowance) that applies to your UK income in the same way as a UK resident does? I thought the Personal Allowance only applies to UK residents. Not picking a fight here, I think it is shameful that disadvantaged this way but there again. are you a taxpayer in the French IT system? If so, I assume that the Double Taxation agreement with France means that your UK tax is used as a credit to offset your French Tax liability. Of course, you are under no obligation to discuss your private financial arrangements. I am thinking aloud, not prying.
its no its not the range that worries me. the lack of accuracy, austerity and all the mistakes and bad decisions that come with it, not including being nearly 2trill in debt i find more concerning.
Yes I do have a UK personal allowance but that is because my RAF pension is taxed in the UK and the UK system allows people to have a personal allowance. If I lived outside the EU then that would be a different matter and there would be no annual increases either. My RAF pension is not much over 10k pa so I pay very little tax any way. I have to declare all my worldly income on my French tax return so if I earned enough to pay French tax then the UK tax would be deducted from that. The French system taxes couples differently so I would need to earn quite a bit more to have to pay French tax. My gripe is that the vote for women was fought 100 years ago with a slogan something like " No taxation without representation", and that is the predicament that I am in, the UK can have a brexit vote that will directly affect me and yet the above slogan does not apply to me. I have no problem discussing finance because I am a time millionaire who does not worship money, and does not give a monkeys for class or status.
The North American colonies got quite wound up over the issue of taxation without representation. Quite right too, I'm glad they did.
I pay tax on my military pension, however the police and fire service do not. The petition is to seek the same agreements for the military.
I wonder how many of the other countries not meeting their 2% for defence account in the same way as the UK.
I'll bet that thousands of ex-coppers would love receive a tax free pension, but they don't. Can you give us an official link to where you get your information from?
It's still a no However, I'd have been tempted to sign up in my youth if this was the company vehicle of choice. :Hungry:
when I was working in Cyprus alot of the cops had panda'erd up blades. Never actually seen one ridding em though now I think of it. Just parked up at the beach stood by em wearing shades and chatting up the ladies.
