Noise Cancelling Headphones.

  1. Mrs Mervyn is looking for a decent set of noise cancelling headphones. For wearing on the train or when visiting noisy galleries. Can anyone recommend a decent set that are not to dorky?

Don't know anything about them so all information would be very welcome.
    Thankyou.

  2. I have a set of Bose QC25s ( maybe 35s not with me to check) I think that I have used on long haul flights and in general. Not cheap but for me do a good job. Came with two batteries each of which gives a decent number of hours of life.

  3. I have a set of bose and beats and both work well. Any aversion to in-ear plugs?

  5. Thankyou TT600, bradders and El Toro.Big positive for Bose.
Mrs Mervyn not keen on the in ear type bradders, but thank you for the suggestion.I will throw the Bose recommendation her way.

  6. Merv, she is waiting for you to tell her what she wants.

  7. Only thing I'd say in my On ear bose can only be worn for an hour before if becomes uncomfortable, like a airlock. Not sure it over ears would be different. My beats ones aren't as bad, but still get uncomfortable after an hour or so :)

  15. Thank you for that Carr01.Mrs mervyn is now looking seriously at these.I am about to read up the link that TT600 sent me.

  16. Just throwing my two pennies worth in again.
I've head phones from bang, bowers,Bose,Sony and without a good rummage that's all I can recall.
The build quality and materials used between the Bose and the bang is off the peg vs Savill Row.
Headphones get a lot of handling and leaving sound quality out of the equation for now, bang or bowers use much better components and durable materials.
The price points are relatively equitable across all the noise canceling over the ear headphones that have been suggested. Bose spend a lot on marketing but they feel cheap and are very plasticky.

  17. I have the Sennheiser Momentum Bluetooth noise cancellers and they are pretty stellar with awesome build quality and very long lasting battery. Downside is the price @ £380! Didn't try the B&O's but imagine they are equally as good.
