Shots Heard Ouside Uk Parliament

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by El Toro, Mar 22, 2017.

  1. Yeah - apparently he was armed - probably just happened so quick.Poor guy.RIP

  2. it was only a matter of time, i think the bloke was quite stupid in the sense that he could of driven down say the prom in Blackpool on a summers day
and caused more casualties plus would have taken god knows how much longer for armed police to arrive. then attack our heavily guarded political hub

i fear it will be the remote places hit next as London has been hit a few times now... they will move on

i wish ALL are officers were armed... everyone of them even if is just a 9mm pistol strapped to them so in every village, town, city...
there will always be an armed officer close by.

i also feel that fire arms licence applications with start to rise also.... i have considered this myself being ex military and love shooting, was close to getting one a few years ago for range shooting, but now i would like one for my family's protection worst case scenario.

another sad day in the UK.... but unfortunately it wont be last

  4. Watched Simon Jenkins on Newsnight last night and I have to say I agreed with him when he said that by making so much of this, by changing TV schedules, providing saturation news coverage and endlessly discussing the "causes" we do these people's work for them. The fundamental thing that terrorists crave is publicity and by the attention they receive and the chatter and debate they generate with their crimes their dismal agenda rises to the surface and settles there like scum. These low cowards are not terrorists. Their actions and demented beliefs do not require discussion and they do not inspire fear, just disgust and contempt. They are simply criminals. What happened yesterday should not be glamorised by calling it an act of terror. It was a cowardly and despicable crime and the perpetrators should be treated with the contempt they deserve. Don't hand them the airtime.

  5. My concern is that the saturation coverage, in addition to inadvertently giving the terrorists what they crave, also serves a more murky agenda.

A population with a low-level anxiety that is regularly reinforced is not only easier to govern, it is more easily distracted from "other issues".

And in case you were thinking of getting into a lather, I speak of opportunism rather than conspiracy. I don't want people's imaginations running wild.

  6. Instead of over using the term 'terror' focus should be aimed at NHS cuts.
Someone somewhere must have seen this bloke going off the rails some time ago, this is where 'care in the community ' would have been useful for having his mental health assessed.
Madness is no excuse for badness.

  8. Saddest thing in the whole episode is the pathetic excuse for a mayor that London has

It takes him hours to make a statement and when he does he does not condemn the actions of a terrorist ???

Is Khan a closet terrorist sympathiser, he has been quoted as saying terrorism is inevitable, he doesn't condemn it, one must question his judgement and whether or not he is fit for purpose

  9. But why would he instantly jump on the 'terror' bandwagon? Surely an investigation into this mans (murdering bastard) background would have to be established firstly.
Otherwise it would appear as though our great Lord Mayor was simply looking for attention from the world press.
    Sigh, :(

  10. going by recent speeches its not the first time the lord mayer has used a stage to promote his or his party's misguided opinions for political gain.
    twat.

  11. Id hardly think he's a closet terrorist sympathiser lol
He's been quoted as saying an attack like yesterday's is inevitable "for a city the size of London".
    Turns out he's right.

  14. MsM overkill as usual. Just makes nutters even more likely to move from fantasy to reality.

Do not publish the murderers name
    Do not publish their 'cause'
Do not change schedules or trott out every person who has potentially been close to it or had a similar tragedy in the past (Jo the murdered politicians husband was very good and balanced again on fb this morning tho)

  15. The current Lord Mayor of London is Andrew Parmley. So what is your complaint about him?

  16. He is a lackey of the banks.

  17. It's also a mostly ceremonial role for pomp and ceremony and it's probably filled by a mason to look after his masonic square mile lodge

  18. in which case i meant sadiq.

  19.
  20. Lord mayor of London is Parmley(which basically covers the financial square mile) and London Mayor is Siddiq who covers the rest and yes I agree fin, Siddiq is an opportunist toad
