  1. Now fitted ..................... just need to get my bl**dy puncture repaired and will post results of a nice smooth silky clutch action............ ( I hope)

  2. Snap !!! Just fitted one to my bike, was a little bit underwhelmed actually, not a great deal lighter or smoother. Meh, it least it looks a bit better

  3. Funny you should say that but when i had a feel last night it really did not feel any lighter at all????
Perhaps a road test should really be the judge of whether it was worth the £100

  4. Pleased with the result on my bus...:upyeah:

  5. I don't know the exact cut off dates/which models but if you ride a fairly 'late' Ducati then the standard clutch slave bore may well be the same as an Oberon. I bought a late second hand one (with the Ducati logo on the casting?) for my Monster for £14 as original was weeping and very pleased with result.

  6. Now you tell me!!!!

  7. You can run with four springs on the pressure plate for a lighter action + the oberon. Just remove two springs opposite each other, good idea to replace the other four with new ones tho, but not essential.

  8. I love passing on tips that help and i'm sorry it was after the horse had bolted. Plus points : just as Dave said, it looks better and I know they used to boast of a superior seal design so still a job well done :upyeah:

  9. And in black too, so does not stick out like some beacon:tongue:

  10. Cool ill save myself some money and go buy some Humbrol

  11. My bike had the later slave and fitting the Oberon has defo made a difference. If you have the very old slave then going to the later Duc slave is prob a good mod. But aren't the push rods a diff lengh?

  12. Oberon give you a extension piece if you use the older design. My bike is a 2012 bike so i guess it must have the latest unit?

  13. I fitted an Oberon to first 996 and it made no difference just as Dave and Peter found - are you sure it was a 'later' slave? - best way to confirm is to remove piston and measure it.

  14. What size is old then please?

  15. Right wheel done and road tested........................ Results.......... Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a difference the clutch is much lighter, it is more progressive without the snatchy feel, it is a DELIGHT to use in traffic and makes the bike more enjoyable to ride around town.

Did i say it was Brilliant !!

  16. :upyeah:

    What bike?

  17. its an 848 SF isnt it?

in which case I'll put the Humbrol back on the shelf and spend some of my Christmas money

I fitted an STM on on my S4r and that made a world of difference

wasnt sure on the wet clutch SF but if it is an improvement I will do - the SF clutch is very heavy in traffic / filtering etc

  18. Yes it is a 848 SF. And it is the best £90 value to making the bike nicer to ride that i have spent.
