Thanks for the heads up re the eBay items. Will take of slave and give it a good check over.
    Cheers.

  2. Quick update. Ordered a used but pretty clean slave cylinder from Ebay for £24 (starting with cheapest option first)

Had it in garage for about three weeks, finally managed to install it today and took bike for 30 min spin.

Clutch didnt lose pressure, so i may have fixed the problem.

Thanks for all the advice. greatly appreciated.

It's a bit sprightly, certainly quicker than my 851

  5. Good stuff! That's how I fixed mine! Replaced my expensive Oberon one with a standard and hey presto!!

  6. Only just read of this Inda; sounds like quite a trip home. I'm glad it was a cheap fix in the end. I replaced my oem unit with the Oberon to make lighter; its a worthwhile change for around £90. Its also a good time to clean & grease the push rod. She looks good on the photos'.

  7. Hi Tony,

Thanks for the message, yes all sorted now, just needed a bit of time to take things apart and clean everything.

  8. This feels like groundhog day, since my last post i havent actually used the bike, and yet another attempt at bleeding the system i thought i had solved the problem, but first ride out and 10 minutes later i lost pressure in clutch lever again.

Before shelling out £270 on a new master cylinder i sent mine off to be serviced/checked by Mode Performance in Silverstone who serviced the master (great service by the way, link below) informed me the master was keeping good pressure with no leaks.

    Mode Performance | Brembo Racing

Installed the Master on bike, bled system, ten minutes into my first ride, loss of pressure again. Left bike in garage for a couple of weeks due to work, went in to have a look at it today, and the lever has pressure..........grrrrrrr

Anyone have any idea what's going on? i leave a bike with no clutch pressure, come back a few weeks later and the lever feels fine. I have replaced the original slave cylinder with a used item from Ebay, is the used slave faulty or is there a leak somewhere, where can the leak be?

    All advice greatly appreciated.

  9. I have a OEM slave you can borrow, but I'd like it back once you've finished testing. Its off a 996 so I assume the same.

  10. Could I be unlucky enough to have two faulty slave cylinders?

  11. Very possible. Dry stored seals go hard. Andy

  12. I honestly don't know but its only a reservoir, a master, a hose and a slave with a couple of bleed nipples and banjos.

Very weird how it fixes itself after a few days.

  13. Could the pushrod be spinning and causing friction-generated, heat-related issues??
    How fresh is the fluid?
If there's water in it, the water can boil...

  14. Fluid is new. Flushed the system through.

  15. Last night I followed another members advice and pulled the clutch lever back, tying it with a bungee rope, leaving the lid off the reservoir to rid it of any air.

  16. This does work to at least a degree for brakes but I don't know about clutches, fingers crossed :)
Don't think it was necessary to remove the reservoir lid.
