Hi, I've always worn full "gauntlet" style gloves, currently Alpinestars GP Pro from a couple of years ago. I was looking at maybe trying a pair of the short version gloves for the summer. Does anyone else wear this style, and if so, what do you think? I'm looking at the GPX or SPX Air Carbon, any suggestion of where to buy from? Anyone have any discount codes for a supplier? Thanks.
Love the carbon ones. I have them in red and white. Amazing in 20 oC and above. Infinity motorcycles have never steered me wrong. Hope this helps.
I used to wear Dainese pistons which were short and from memory pretty good, obviously the wrist is more exposed in a crash though. At the moment I'm still wearing the same as you, GP pro Alpinestars and a word of warning The new alpinestars are definitely much much smaller than the previous generation, I popped by a dealer a couple of weeks ago to look at the gen 2 gp pro and I couldn't even get my hands in the xl and that's the size I have in the GP pro. They didn't have xxl so can't even say if it's simply a matter of going one size up but I'd definitely keep that in mind. Bit annoying really as you kind of find your size then all of a sudden it's back to square one again
I found this yesterday. I currently wear a medium, which were tight, but stretched ok to fit .... well, like a glove. In the current Alpinestars I need a XL, I thought my hands had got fat over the winter.
Picked up a pair of Alpinestars GPX short gloves, will try them this weekend. Currently have a medium pair of GP Pro, but couldn't even get my hand in the medium GPX. Ended up with large in the GPX.
Interested to hear how you go on, I've just bought some Alpinestars short boots today, and ALMOST got the gloves too but I'm the same as you re the GP glove as my usual glove of choice.
#damodici - going up from medium to large really helped. To be honest, I could not even get the new medium GPX short glove on. #teetheowl - had to work out if I tried to took the leathers in the tops, or not bother etc took a few times, but, found a comfortable way to wear them. It's possible to find a good fit, that allows a slight "draught" up the wrist of the leathers, which is nice on a warm day.
