  3. my ex had a 10 plate cbr 125. A lil smaller than the newer ones in overall size but same power.. at 5'2 ish she got along fine with it.
she went on a get on day which is free and funny to watch! Good for someone with zero experience ( and a partner with zero patience )

  12. Whatever you do get, don't be tempted by an AJS. No idea who makes them but we were lent several by a CBT training company for a slow riding competition and there is no other way of describing them but appalling. The Honda will probably retain value for when your wife moves on so makes sense. Andy

  14. free couple of hr riding course available throughout the country ,assuming its still going!, think it is as my step son is looking into it. She did hers in harrow. Mostly practical, round cones, taking off and stopping stuff with the option of a ped or geared bike. Well worth doing and funny to watch . She dropped the bike maybe 10 times but fair play to her she got straight back on every time.http://www.geton.co.uk/

  15. Get a Cagiva Mito or the Aprilia 125 from the same era second hand. Real bikes. Not too expensive.

  16. but perhaps not real practical for a girly first bike.. Sexist I know but I'd rather my girl was riding home from work on a bullet proof Honda or yam.. The lil cbr certainly was that, I rang its neck on a few ocassions including a few weeks back when I found that despite over a year in the garden under a cover it fired up first punch..
