  1. How much for a punto one?
Presumably I could get one of those and get Chrisw to flash it if it's not a silly price.
Found an advert for someone who will supply an ecu for 200 or repair for 100 but it's for a 999s.

  2. not sure if you can, i seem to recall asking that question before when attempting to resolve a non start issue with my fugly

  3. Did you look at then ad?
    What do we think?
How well would a 999s map work in a 999????

  4. looks similar but is that a different part no?
as for the mapping bit out my depth i'm afraid

  5. A Punto ECU won't work. Some of the internal hardware is different apparently.

  6. Ok, thanks Derek. Any idea about the 999s ecu exchange or repair ad??

  7. Currently fighting my way into the back of that infernal battery box. Do I need to get the ecu out to check continuity of the trigger lead?

  8. Apparently there is a part number under the sticker, you need it to match yours. CJS said they could put a standard Ducati map on for £100 if you get a matching ECU from a scrap yard.

  9. Good to know. All I need is a scrap 999 or something similar with the same ecu...

  10. Please double check with CJS before buying.

    Glad the socket fitted!

  12. The S model has better suspension and some other, mainly cosmetic changes but I think the map is just the same. Although I could be wrong.

  13. Ok
    The socket is perfect!
Can't help wondering if the fact the plug wasn't seated properly may have contributed to the problem...

  14. Different cams? Would that make a difference?

  15. I think they have different cams, which is why I wondered if the maps differ

  16. No but you need to disconnect the black Engine connector. It's the one on the right of this picture. There is a tab on the bottom that needs to be pressed then you rotate the lever part anti-clockwise. Test from the socket pin 38 to the grey/blue trigger wire at the coil.

  17. Thanks Derek,
    You're a star...

  18. Beat me to it... ;)

  19. Just checked out Avantis prices.
    Ouch.
400 for an exchange. 300 to fix mine
