1200 DVT Top Speed

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by bradders, Jun 16, 2017.

  1. I know my DVT is faster than I am and fast enough to get me into trouble
It's the real world performance , comfort and reliability that does it for me

  12. Didnt get out yesterday Bradders as my brothers Diavel went wrong so we spent the day stripping and mending that (MAF sensors failed) but am just gearing up now so will post my findings later :upyeah:

  15. Right @bradders old toosh, in the interests of science and research only, I have risked life and limb today (On a closed road ;)) and here are my results. I don't think they will prove anything at all as to establish the grunt from your motor, only higher gears to see its pulling power will prove anything. But anyhoo, this is what I saw either on, or very bloody close to the red lights flashing on the dash.
These were speedo indicated and not GPS, the (closed ;)) roads were not huge and thus looking at the little GPS display was a no go, but these are what I saw on my speedo.

    2nd Gear 93 MPH
    3rd gear 122 MPH
    4th gear 147 MPH

The 4th gear run was defo at the limiter, and I think the 2nd also, 3rd may have had 1 or 2 more MPH in it but was real close to the limiter. :)

That was solo rider, no boxes, no wind to speak of, and slightly tucked to avoid the head pressure.

Again sports bike back aching arse in the air primadonna's, put this in your achey wrist sore arse pipe and smoke it :grinning:

  16. I reckon that's actually quicker top end in fourth than my 1299.

I think I'm on the limiter at about 140 ish in fourth.

Even though it won't get to 140 like a sport bike does that's still Impressive.

  17. The difference is your 1299, will keep pulling like a train in 5th and 6th, and I think the multi tends to lack a little in those tall gears.

  18. From what I've witnessed with mates on ZX-GSXR-R1etc etc, I'm generally with them till 130-140 then they start to get the legs on me, but thats fine with me as after that, you risk getting bummed by Grossberger in the big house :)
