Proper race bikes! Love the line up of TZs and the RGs as well, brings back so many great memories of the 70s and 80s when life revolved around watching racing, competing at whatever meeting we could afford to enter and never ending maintenance and repairs to three bikes so they were ready to be loaded in the van Friday night and off to that weekends venue.
A very special bike especially to Ducati lovers but for me it has to be a TZ or RG stroker. Such an exciting ride if you could keep them in the powerband which was narrower than a politicians mind, almost non existent engine braking which meant you often had the rear wheel waving in the air as you rapidly approached a slower corner crushing the brake lever against the twist grip and then assuming you had kept the revs up you put the throttle on the stop, a fraction late and you were left for dead by those who got it right, a fraction early and the back would come round and spit you off before you knew what was happening. Amazing things to ride when everything was spot on.
I was there with my Laverda SFC, apart from the rain all day Saturday it was great fun. Riding through Eau Rouge was something special, as was watching the 4 hour evening endurance race with their bike lights through the trees. View attachment 92240
Love the RGV, wonder what thats worth now ? (quite like the F-16 also, did a Squadron exchange with those guys many many years ago when they were in Liege)
Thank you, just got it restored. Though they are quite a challenge to ride, you have to have long arms and short legs!! I think the early 1970's test riders were all Italian jockeys!! Really pleased with it though and it sounds great .
