I'm talking about wheels you durty gets I have it in my head to take a month off and simply tour the U.K. or parts of europe but using a bike and sidecar. Throw all my stuff in the sidecar, tour, tent and/or cheap hotel. Has anyone had a sidecar outfit, toured with it, loved or hated it, you get the drift If you have what bikes did you consider and what did you end up with?
I thought this was going to be a Triumph thread, in the same way I get dissapointed by threads about naked twins
I'm guessing you have never ridden a motorcycle and sidecar ? My one and only experience was on an Ariel with Watsonian sidecar over 40 years ago. The experience was on a par with that of a modern Red Bull soapbox downhill and one I will NEVER voluntarily do again in my life. If you fancy 3 wheels, try a trike and you can tow a small trailer for all your "stuff". Andy
You're correct and that is why I want to do it, where would be the fun in doing something you do every day of your life? Urals seem cheapish
Couldn't agree more but I draw the line at doing something that has a very real possibility of, if not killing me, doing major life threatening injury. Screw your line up on a modern sports/tourer/adventure bike and you can adjust your line on the move. Screw up on an outfit and it'll spit you off. I no longer have the same resilience or heal as quickly as I did as a young man, so I have become more risk averse in my 60s. Andy
To be fair, I doubt I would be riding a bike and sidecar like a sports bike. There would be no time limit persay just enjoying the world go by
