Watch and see if you can spot why you might worry. I'll leave it open till someone finds it or just for a few days. Just for fun
Military training is amongst the best there is and ALL licenced helicopter engineers have to undergo comprehensive training and meet continuous proficency standards. Any critical systems have to have a dual inspection whenever maintenance work has been carried out (such as the drive train, rotor blades, gearboxes, hydraulic systems etc) before an aircraft is returned to service and ALL commercial offshore helicopters have HUMS fitted (Health and Usage Monitoring Systems) to warn of any potential future component issues or failures through the use of a myriad of transponders and accelerometers, the data being collected/downloaded after every flight. If I didn't trust in the work they do, I wouldn't be flying them, day in day out. Things do occasionally go wrong (it is a machine after all) but through best practices and experienced crew and engineers, such issues can be mitigated or prevented altogether. The young lad/actor in this promotional video, in reality would be working alongside more senior ratings, whilst he learnt his trade and was proficient to do the work by himself. Even then, as said for critical systems, he would have his work inspected by another engineer to satisfy that all has been carried out accordingly.
Which is all very good top, but should you be flying when your eyesight missed this Just for fun Another part was an old style engine that had a new style clocks with digital mileage
Perhaps not! As far as the video goes, I thought there was a bit of a mismatch with the old car/modern dash but not much else.
My dream job,got a boy hood fetish for helicopters, I live near tern hill and the police / military training squirrels fly locally almost daily.... still can't help but look up and watch em fly by
Got Wildcats buzzing over my gaff all the time. Merlins previously but they've upped and left. I liked the Merlins, even got a lift one once : o )
Squirrels are almost as popular as the beloved Bell Jetranger (Anneka Rice's favoured chariot). If money were no object (a Lottery win me feels) I would love to own one.
Jumped a few jet rangers in my skydiving career, actually jumped this one form midland helicopters, until this episode, they understandably didn't do any following this near catastrophe!
@noobie You have got my attention but I can't see anything obvious, although the soldering was faked.
the wife's father was a helicopter pilot, military, police and civil, they where forever falling out the sky. i wouldn't risk it myself.
Helicopters are especially fun whilst banking right, and you are in the seat next to the open door. Best part.
I once flew a helicopter but I got too cold and turned the fans off. We have Apaches and Chinooks over here daily......... "Running around like a bunch of wild indians (bunch of wild indians) .......Mr Custer; can I have the rest of the afternoon off?........I want to change my library book"
The bike.....I'm sorry sir, I've put your rotors on 45 degrees out !! Oh, and the RADAR screen appears to put the ship on land ??
